INT. MEETING OF STYLES 2018 – BETWEEN THE LINES

“Education is a human right with immense power to transform. On its foundation rest the cornerstones of freedom, democracy and sustainable human development.” Kofi Annan

A free and honest education stands at the beginning of progress and development. Taught how to write, to read, to fit in and to function, soon in childhood writing, reading, understanding becomes a problem. Mathematics becomes a problem, history, chemistry. From childhood our mind is trained and educated to live with problems and therefore it is conditioned to create not to solve problems. Taught education is work and freedom is something to be achieved, taught that liberation is an ideal state of mind to be gradually attained through time, practice, education and information we don´t understand that freedom is not to be achieved; liberation is not a thing to be gained. Liberation and freedom is a state of mind which is essential for the discovery of any truth and reality. Therefore it cannot be an ideal; it must exist right from the beginning. Without freedom and a free education, there can be no moments of direct understanding, because all thinking is then limited and conditioned. If your mind is tethered to any conclusion, to any experience, to any form of knowledge or belief, it is not free; and such a mind cannot possibly perceive what is the truth. Read between the lines!

Meeting of Styles Copenhagen goes digital this year! This means a smaller event with our Danish artists. With a focus on livestreaming, we invited a few good old friends to participate from the distance. One of these are EKLOR from Amsterdam, who joined us in 2018!

He dropped this amazing video about visiting Copenhagen and MosCph as an artist with his mates XCUZ and WYKER.

Follow him and the other artists on our upcoming digital event 17-18 July:

  • Saki from San Diego (USA) “Transforming of letters into intergalactic funk”
In 1987 I went by the name Phantazm, but this became a little long, so I was itching for something new. I would shorten it to “Phan,” or use other aliases, but I wanted something permanent. A girl I was into at the time suggested the name “Saki.” I was already interested in Japanese culture…
  • JahOne from Sofia (Bulgaria) “Graffiti brings more beauty to the world”
Another guest at MOS Germany is JahOne from Bulgaria whose given his name by a friend while doing some “rough style.” He has been painting since 2010 and finds that painting walls is the best way for him to express himself. At the time, we were really into Jungle and Dubstep, and the Rasta culture…
